We designed a bespoke tufting programme to support an artist in developing new textile work for exhibition — combining skill-building with project delivery.
In December 2025, we delivered a custom tufting workshop for artist Lisa Peasy, funded by HOME Manchester.
The programme was developed specifically to support the creation of rugs for an upcoming exhibition. Rather than a standard workshop format, this was structured as an artist-focused development session — tailored to her project timeline, scale requirements, and desired outcomes.
We worked closely with Lisa to:
Build foundational tufting skills
Develop confidence with equipment
Translate her visual language into textile form
Produce finished pieces within a fixed deadline
This format demonstrates how Manchester Tufting Workshops can support artists working toward specific outputs — whether exhibition pieces, commissions, or research-led projects.
Custom sessions can be adapted in scale, duration, and technical focus depending on the artist’s needs.
The emphasis was on:
Skill development for professional artists
Project-specific learning
Technical support within a deadline
Expanding textile practice through guided making
